Vadaladu movie review

Cast: Siddharth, Catherine Tresa etc.
Music: Thaman
Director: Sai Shekhar
Producers: R Soundarya- Deppa Iyer
Release Date: October 11th, 2019

Siddharth, who once enjoyed a good following in Telugu, has gradually lost it over the period. While his survival in Tollywood is found to be tough, how far is his latest film Vadaladu, going to help him? Let’s find it out, through the review.

Story:

Jagan (Siddharth) is a strict food inspector and he troubles a few of the food mafia villains. Left with no option, the villains try to kill Jagan. Did the villains succeed in their attempt and where did Catherine Tresa, finds her place in the entire setup, is what answers Vadaladu movie.

Performances:

Siddharth as food inspector is perfect. His body language has perfectly suited the character. Catherine Tresa is decent in her role. Especially in the interval block scene, she comes up with a terrific performance. Kumaravel is elevated well, even though he had a crisp role to play in the film. Rest other roles are satisfactory.

Cinematographer Ekambaram molded the scenes as per the mood of it. Thaman songs are disappointing, but the background score is good. The editing is superb, as it took the story in a most engaging manner.

Director Sai Shekhar failed to make his identity with the horror thriller, as he just copied the earlier films like Kanchana, that are made in the similar genres. But a few scenes related to adulterated food are good. Though the director’s point is made clear, it is only his presentation, that makes it dull.

Plus points:

– First 30 minutes of second half
– Scenes about adulterated food.
– Few emotional scenes.

Minus points:

– Predictable screenplay
– Slow narration in the first half
– Boring romantic track
– Poor graphics
– Songs at irregular intervals.

Analysis:

Vadaladu awakens the public, by exposing several facts behind adulterated food. Though the point is good, the director could not mix it up with an engaging screenplay.

Finally: Vadaladu- Good message, but bad execution.

Rating: 2/5
