The entire country is once again several hit by the second wave of Coronavirus, which is turning out to be a lot worse than the first wave. Thousands of lives have already been lost, and lakhs of people are testing positive for the virus every single day.
Frontline workers are putting in their best efforts to help those infected by the virus, and are fighting day and night to keep the virus at bay. A lot of states are suffering from a shortage in oxygen supply, and a shortage in the number of frontline workers. As a result, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to hire healthcare workers to fight against Coronavirus in the state.
On Sunday, Muddala Ravi Chandra, the Principal Secretary, said that the government has issued orders to hire 1,170 specialists, 1,170 general duty medical officers, 2,000 staff nurses, 306 anesthesia technicians, 300 FNOs, 300 MNOs, and 300 sweepers, on a 6-month contract basis.
With the number of cases in the state increasing, the Health and Family Welfare Commissioner requested the AP government to continue with the hiring of healthcare workers to fight against the pandemic. On the other hand, AP recorded 12,634 new infections in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 10.3 Lakhs, and the active number of cases to 89,732.
