The state election commission has rejected the government’s decision to transfer Andhra Pradesh Panchayati Raj chief Gopalakrishna Dwivedi and department commissioner Girija Shankar.
Panchayati Raj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy recently told the media that the Chief Secretary of the Panchayati Raj Department and the Commissioner of the Department have already been transferred.
Initially, SEC said that it was inappropriate to make transfers when the election process was at a crucial stage.
The SEC clarified that election procedures must be followed if transfers are to be made at this point in time.
It is rumoured that the state election commission has rejected the transfer proposals of the two officers. But then the SEC gave clarity by issuing transfer orders against both of them.
