Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner (SEC) Neelam Sawhney received a big blow from AP High Court over the Parishad elections. The High Court has canceled the MPTC and ZPTC elections.
Janasena President Pawan Kalyan responded to this and said that the High Court’s decision to cancel the MPTC and ZPTC elections is laudable. In this context, Janasena released a press note.
Initially, elections were canceled a year ago due to corona and a year later, the same notification has been issued again by the new SEC of AP. Janasena had vehemently opposed the Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to hold elections for MPTC and ZPTC in April. Janasena had clearly demanded that fresh notification be issued to give adequate time to the candidates who want to contest.
However, the Janasena resorted to the high court as the state government was ready to hold elections on a one-sided basis. Now, the High Court clarified that the elections were not held in accordance with the Supreme Court guidelines.
