The high court of Andhra Pradesh has suspended the G.O No. 35 passed by the government of Andhra Pradesh. This GO is related to cinema ticket pricing restrictions imposed by the state government.
The state government had restricted cinema ticket pricing at a pre-fixed amount. This GO is now ineffective as the high court struck it down.
This would mean that starting from tomorrow, cinema halls across Andhra Pradesh can follow the pricing system they used to follow prior to the imposition of GO 35.
This could provide some breathing space to Pushpa: The Rise as it hits the silver screens on the 17th of December with hiked ticket prices.
The government is yet to comment about the High Court order. It remains to be seen if the Jagan-led government will permit the flexible pricing model or impose a new set of restrictions with immediate effect.
