Team India star batsman and test captain Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against South Africa.
It is learned that before the tour of SA, the BCCI had handed over the responsibilities to Rohit Sharma, leaving Kohli out of ODI captaincy.
Kohli, who stepped down as T20 captain after the T20 World Cup, said he would continue to captain the side for ODIs and Tests. But, the BCCI gave the responsibilities to the Hitman, leaving him full in charge of the white ball format.
The decision of the BCCI seems to have left Virat deeply disappointed. With this, the news is heard that he wants to stay away from the ODI series, which will be held in South Africa.
However, a top BCCI official has asserted that Virat Kohli has not put in any formal request for a break from the ODI leg of the upcoming South Africa tour.
