The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is embroiled in another controversy. TTD chief priest Venugopal Deekshithulu recently filed a petition in the high court challenging the appointment of Ramana Deekshithulu as TTD chief priest. The High Court bench accepted the petition filed by Venugopala Deekshithulu. The Andhra Pradesh High court issued notices to the state government, to the Tirumala Tirupati Temple, and to Ramana Deekshithulu.
Ramana Deekshithulu took over as the Chief Priest of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam on April 4, 2021. Venugopala Deekshithulu belonging to the Gollapalli clan is the chief priest till then. He is a permanent employee. Officials said there would be no change of authority even if Ramana Deekshithulu took over as chief priest.
