The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday imposed a night curfew in the state from 11 PM to 5 AM in view of the surge in the number of Covid-19 cases over the past few days.
As per reports, the state witnessed a sudden jump in virus cases as over 4,000 were added in just the last five days. The government has ordered that theatres be operated with a 50 per cent occupancy and that the mask be made mandatory.
At a high-level review meeting, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the Health Department officials to impose other restrictions as well and ensure people strictly followed Covid Appropriate Behaviour to check the spread of the virus.
The Chief Minister also directed the officials to review the stocks of medicines used in the treatment and to procure and keep them ready as required. He further directed that there should not be more than 200 people in public gatherings and 100 people in indoor events.
