AP government continues to ignore HC’s word on tickets issue

The Andhra Pradesh government made things worse for the Telugu Film Industry when it announced that the ticket prices would be reduced in the state and that all the tickets would have to be bought through an online portal run by the government. The ticket prices have reached an all-time low in AP, with the tickets at certain theatres as less as Rs. 10. The Andhra Pradesh High Court even dismissed the GO No. 35 issued by the AP government in this regard, but the AP government has been paying a deaf ear to that.

The AP HC recently got angry at the issue and asked the government to issue an affidavit in this regard. As if to intentionally delay the proceedings, a Committee has been formed and the government told the Court that the Affidavit will be filed based on the report that will be submitted by the Committee. As a result, the hearing of the case has been postponed to February 10th, by the HC.

This means that there would be no special offers or any relief for those films that are releasing for Sankranthi. Also, several people from Tollywood are trying to meet with AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, to discuss the issue, and settle things down, but haven’t been able to get his appointment. It is now to be seen what will happen in the end.
