AP Dalit communities are protesting against MLC post to Thota Trimurthulu

The Dalit communities in AP, especially in Kostha Andhra are opposing the appointment of YCP leader Thota Trimurthulu as an MLC under the Governor’s quota. Since there are criminal cases against Trimurthulu, initially, Governor Vishwabushan Harichandan refused to approve him as MLC under the Governor quota. Then, CM Jagan met the Governor and gave clarity over this. Against this backdrop, Governor gave a green signal to Thota’s appointment.

However, this is being condemned on a large scale in Dalit communities as Thota Trimurthulu tonsured a Dalit man and severely bet him. The case is still under investigation. The leaders of Dalit communities are questioning how he can be given an MLC seat. They are demanding the AP Governor to take back his decision. In the past, when he was in TDP, TDP faced similar situations.
