GN Rao Committee, which has been constituted for deciding the Capital city of Andhra Pradesh has met Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and submitted its report on Friday. The concerned officials had prepared the report considering several factors, including public opinion.
While the committee members opened nothing about the report to the media and left the place, CM Jagan has called for a cabinet meet on the 27th of this month. The dynamic CM will ask the ministers about their opinions on the report in the meeting and then take a final call after considering all the pros and cons.
So the public is required to wait for one more week to know whether Amaravati will be retained as AP’s Capital or three-capitals-model substitutes it as hinted by the CM in the last assembly session.

There has been a mixed opinion on the three-capitals-model proposed by Jagan. While the opposition parties are anyway going against the idea and even Amaravati farmers are opposing it by default, other sections of the public are in favor of the new proposal anticipating that the decentralization of power will witness good prospects in AP soon. So it should be seen on what basis Jagan decides about the AP’s Capital city.
