The life of another genius ended tragically. McAfee Antivirus creator John McAfee has reportedly committed suicide in a prison. John, who is facing charges of tax evasion in the United States, has been serving a prison sentence in Spain since October last year.
The 75-year-old US technology entrepreneur hanged himself in his prison cell on Wednesday (June 23) after the Spanish high court allowed his extradition to the United States.
John invented antivirus software McAfee in the 80s and caught everyone’s attention. However, he is accused of tax evasion in Tennessee and cryptocurrency fraud in New York.
McAfee sold his company to Intel in 2011. After that, he stayed away from business and enjoyed a life of luxury. In 2012, he fled to escape a police inquiry into a neighbour’s murder case.
At one point, with the help of Cuba, he wanted to run for the United States president, but his plans failed. However, his fans are upset that the life of a genius has ended so tragically. Prison authorities were investigating the cause of death.
