Ahead of the election next month in Uttar Pradesh, it appears like Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government is receiving blows from its party leaders.
A day after UP Labour minister Swami Prasad Maurya resigned from the cabinet, along with four others, now another minister – Dara Singh Chauhan quit the ministry.
Mr Chauhan, who held forest and environment portfolio, stepped down from his position saying that he had taken this decision because of the negligence of the government towards Dalits, backwards and farmers.
“I worked to the best of my capacity for the betterment of my department but seeing the negligent attitude of the government towards the backwards, deprived, dalits, unemployed youth and farmers, I am forced to resign from the ministry,” he wrote in his resignation letter addressed to the governor.
Chauhan is the second OBC leader to quit team Yogi just before the Uttar Pradesh polls next month.
