Anniyan Hindi Remake: Film’s producer calls Shankar’s remake illegal

Acclaimed filmmaker Shankar on Wednesday announced that he will remake his blockbuster film, Anniyan, in Hindi with Ranveer Singh. The film will be produced by Pen Movies.

A day after Shankar announced the remake with Ranveer Singh, the Tamil film’s producer Aascar Ravichandran has now reacted strongly to the announcement.

Expressing his dissatisfaction over the Hindi remake, Ravichandra issued a statement lashing out at Shankar for remaking it without his approval.

Ravichandra claimed that he had acquired the entire story rights from the writer Sujath (alias late Rangarajan) and is the whole and sole owner of the rights of the storyline.

Calling it an illegal remake, the Tamil producer asked Shankar to terminate his work on the Anniyan remake. He sent a legal notice to the director and the Bollywood production house. Shankar is yet to respond to Aascar Ravichandran’s letter.
