Starring Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi fame Sushanth Reddy in the lead role, Bombhaat is the latest Telugu film to release directly on Amazon Prime Video. Here is our review of the film.
Story:
Vicky (Sushanth) feels is pretty low on luck and he has a low self esteem. One day, he meets Professor (Sasir Sharma) who helps him in expressing his love towards Chaitra( Chandini Chowdary). But all of a sudden professor breathes his last and his daughter Maya(Chandini Chowdary) who is in need of support is fostered by Vicky. The rest of the story unveils the mystery behind professor’s death and Vicky’s journey with Maya.
What about on-screen performances?
Sushanth delivers an okayish performance and he does not show much variation when it comes to emotions. Same goes with Simran Choudhary and Chandini Chowdary as well. Tanikella Bharani, Sisir Sharma, and other senior actors deliver what is expected of them.
What about off-screen talents?
To put it in relative terms, Bombhaat is more or less a recreation of Rajinikanth’s Robo. However, Bombhaat is not even remotely close to the Shankar’s visual marvel. The film has a poor story and painfully slow screenplay. Batting the premise and Sunil’s voice over, no aspect of Bombhaat is worth a mention. One might find random YouTube videos more engaging than this film. Dialogues in certain portions of the film are reasonably decent.
Satish’s cinematography and B Josh’s music are mediocre. Editing should have been much much better. Production values are good but they go in vein.
What’s hot?
Sunil’s voice over
What’s bad?
Repetitive screenplay
Poor narration
Weak direction
Poorly written characters
Cringe-worthy comedy
Hideous editing
Verdict:
Bombhaat will leave the viewers regretting their decision to watch the film . Right from the start to finish the film is outright boring. One might wonder how Amazon Prime Video even dared to release the film on their platform.
Watch or not?: Definitely not.
