Few celebs from the Hindi film industry had always been vocal and extended their support towards cleanliness, biodiversity, climate change etc. For years celebrities have utilised their image not only career wise but also to educate the masses about maintaining a healthier and greener environment.
Dia Mirza, Amitabh Bacchan, Abishek Bacchan, Nandita Das, John Abraham etc are among few who actively promote environment protection.
Currently, Akshay Kumar who calls himself as cleanliness freak, has been recognised internationally for his massive contribution towards environment preservation in numerous ways. He has been honoured by the Golden Globe Honours Foundation alongside Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio and other bigwigs.
Previously, Akshay has joined with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to promote cleanliness in Mumbai as part of the Swachh Survekshan 2018.
Credible source says, “Akshay has been instrumental in spreading awareness around the issue of poor sanitation in India or encouraging people to maintain cleanliness. Wherein, Leonardo DiCaprio has worked actively towards protection of biodiversity, ocean and forest conservation and climate change. That’s why their efforts have been recognised”.
