In a significant development, rebel MP of the ruling YSR Congress, K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, has been arrested by the AP CID on various charges, including sedition on Friday.
As per CID officials, Raghu Rama Krishna Raju was indulged in hate speeches against certain communities and promoting disaffection against the government. Following this, a preliminary inquiry has been ordered by CID Additional Director General P V Sunil Kumar and found that Mr Raju caused tensions among the communities and made people lose faith in the government.
The FIR report of the YSRCP MP was out, and it revealed some interesting matters. Along with RRR, the CID named news channels TV5 and ABN in the report and it is expected that the heads of these channels may be called for an inquiry.
CID officials thoroughly investigated the MP debate on the TV5 channel and registered the case as Suo moto and arrested him. As per CID sleuths, the TV5 channel has deliberately allotted slots to the MP on purpose to spread hate and provoke the people against the AP government. The officials also allege that Krishna Raju meets daily with TV5 channel owners and planned a conspiracy against the government.
A case under Sections 124A (sedition), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), 505 (statements conducing public mischief) read with 120B (conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the MP along with news channels.
