Previously, three MLAs from TRS had tested positive for Coronavirus, putting the party in a state of shock. More than 180 trainees at the Telangana State Police Academy have also tested positive for Coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Now, in a more distressing turn of events, Telangana State Home Minister, Mohammed Ali has also tested positive for the virus.
Three days ago, the Minister was reportedly feeling sick and was tested positive. In the meantime, since Ali is an asthma patient by nature, his family members admitted him to a nearby hospital, and the results of his Coronavirus test came while he was still in hospital. It is said that five people from Ali’s personal security staff had tested positive for the virus, which is where he possibly came in contact with the virus.
The Home Minister had also been part of a few public events just days before he tested positive. This is quite troublesome as anyone could have contracted the virus from him.
All of Ali’s family members are now being tested, and will be sent into quarantine to make sure that the virus does not spread anymore.
Interestingly, a team from the Central government, headed by the Joint Secretary of Union Health Ministry, Lav Agarwal, are visiting Hyderabad today as the city and the state of Telangana are witnessing a huge spike in the number of cases for the past few days now.
