After the tragic Vizag gas leak occurred from LG polymers which took 12 lives, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minster arranged a press meet in Vizag immediately and his response caused a huge uproar among the people. Before that, he visited the victims and their families and also announced Rs.1 crore each to the families of those who died in the gas leak incident.
Jagan said, “LG polymers is a multi-national many and we are announcing Rs. 1 crore as an ex-gratia to the families of the victims. Our government will give the remaining amount in those 1 crore rupees after the LG Polymers company decides to give a certain amount.” “I promise you that one person in every victim’s family will be given a job in the same company,” Reddy added.
Many people were disappointed to hear these kinds of words from the state Chief Minster as he never mentioned the course of action his government is going to take on the company for their negligence.
The FIR has been registered at Gopalapatnam Police Station under Sections 278, 284, 285, 337, 338, 304-II of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) which will be charged for some petty cases. No arrests have been made till now.
Jagan, being the first time Chief Minister of the state should understand the gravity of the situation as we can see the frustrated villagers who are being protested outside the LG polymers to shut it down permanently.
