While we struggle to maintain social distancing, overenthusiastic readers have stopped delivery boys and newspapers vendors have stopped distributing papers at many apartment complexes. The people believe that after reading some Whatsapp messages that Corona can spread through newspaper surfaces.
Yesterday, the Times carried a full page story of how a newspaper can’t spread virus but people are free to believe what they want. So all newspaper production has come to a grinding halt even though the vendors are using gloves to distribute papers and the production offices are fumigated and sanitised regularly.
Those unwell are not be sent for delivery. Till they find a solution for the pandemic the newspaper offices urge the citizens to rely on credible information and not believe in rumours and create panic in the society.
