The Joint Forum has called the Central Workers’ Organization in Odisha on 8 January. To make the Bharat Bandh a success, the Congress has announced its full support. On the other hand, information about the bandh’s informal support from the state’s ruling party Biju Janata Dal has also given by the forum.
Keeping in mind the Bharat Bandh, the government has declared a holiday in schools, colleges on Wednesday. A press release from the state education department has informed about the closure of the educational institution on Wednesday.
According to the information received, on Wednesday, on behalf of the organization, INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AICCTU, LPF, UTUC, etc. for the 12-point demand of this nationwide bandh has been called.
CITU’s Bhubaneswar president Navkishore Mahanti has said that every effort made to make the bandh a success. We have also requested the state government to support the bandh.
This bandh will be following from 6 am to 6 pm. The transportation service will wholly stall except for essential services. He said that the All Odisha Transport Association, Truck Federation, Odisha Auto Federation are also included in this Bharat bandh.
