Most of the movies released so far in December have underperformed, to degrees ranging from the disappointing to the disastrous. But, still, 2019 has ended in a similar way with two big-ticket movies performing well at the box office.
One is Sai Dharma Tej’s ‘Prathi Roju Pandage’ and other is Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya starrer ‘’Venky Mama’.
Released on December 20, 2019, Prathi Roju Pandage is continuing its dream run at the box office although it had clashed with new releases Iddari Lokam Okate, Mathu Vadalara, Good Newwz and Software Sudheer.
The Maruthi directorial has taken the advantage of failures of other movies and minting on a good note.
This film has been successful in remaining rock-steady at the ticket counters across the globe and trade analysts are predicting that this movie is likely to continue its better-fared run until Sankranthi.
Maruthi’s brand of humour has won the family audiences, who are flocking the theatres screening Prathi Roju Pandage.
On the other hand, released on December 13, Naga Chaitanya and Venkatesh’s Venky Mama has been the crowd puller to date. It has almost broken even and set to turn hit.
Having opened to good response, Venky Mama is also taking advantage of this season and is likely to witness a good amount of occupancy till the Sankranthi season.
