Victory Venkatesh, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya starrer Venky Mama though has been written off as routine by critics somehow has found a way to become a hit.
The film had an excellent first weekend which covered up for the dull week days. However, Venky Mama has collected a good amount yesterday, thanks to Christmas holiday. The film has collected a share of over 1 Cr Share from Telugu States which has further taken the movie towards break even.
Venky Mama in its 13 days has now collected a share close to 28 Crores from Telugu States and Close to 34 Crores worldwide. Theatricals has been sold at a higher price for the movie. It has done a business of around 31 Crores in Telugu States and 36 Crores world wide, which means a couple of crores more and Venky Mama will be safe for the buyers.
Though Venky Mama has routine story and old style format screen play, star power of Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya plus the added advantage of ‘lack of competition’ worked in favour of the film.
