Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party President Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been granted bail with no clauses or limitations, in the Skill Development case, by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. As the TDP members celebrated this verdict, the YSRCP tried its best to counter-argue this and to get Naidu’s bail rejected.
In that attempt, the Additional Advocate General representing Jagan Mohan Reddy referenced the Supreme Court’s verdict in Jagan’s illegal assets case. The statement reads “The economic offenses having deep-rooted conspiracies and involving huge loss of public funds need to be viewed seriously and considered as grave offenses affecting the economy of the country as a whole and thereby posing a serious threat to the financial health of the country.”
While the AAG ratified that Jagan’s case has become a reference in such cases, it is interesting to see him bring it up right ahead of the elections. This has started a new discussion among political circles regarding the innocence of Jagan in those cases. It is also important to note that these cases have not yet been resolved completely, with a lot of those cases still pending in the CBI court.
