The Vizag fishing harbour, which is home to a number of fishing boats, witnessed a huge loss last night, after a huge fire broke out, burning nearly 25-30 boats parked in the harbour. While no loss of life has been reported, this is indeed a huge loss, with the damage estimated to be at around Rs. 15-20 Crores. Some boats even burst out high, as a lot of them are equipped with fuel tanks and LPG tanks.
Now, this case has taken an interesting turn, with a YouTuber being held responsible for the incident, at least temporarily. YouTuber Nani, who runs the channel Local Boi Nani, has been arrested in this case. He and his friends reportedly were partying on a boat last night, which is reportedly said to have led to the torching of a boat, by some of these group of people.
While Nanai was in absconding until this afternoon, he was taken into custody by the Vizag police, by afternoon. It is being said that one of Nani’s friends caused the fire after Nani refused to hand over the boat that he sold to one of his friends, or even give back the money he was paid. While there is no solid proof that this is what happened, it is going to be interesting to see if this is the direction the police will stick to, or if they will further probe into the incident. It is also going to be interesting to see how the government will respond to this incident, especially considering that the elections are not far away.
