The Chief Minister of Telangana, KCR, and the Governor of Telangana, Tamilisai Soundararajan, have been at odds with each other for a long time now, with the governor not passing the bills passed by the TRS government, and the TRS government not giving due importance to the governor.
Most recently, the governor was not present at the opening of the new Secretariat, which was opened on Sunday by Chief Minister KCR, where several ministers, MPs, state legislators, BRS leaders, and top officials were present as well. The governor was also absent for the inauguration of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s 125 feet statue, which was inaugurated on April 14th.
While those close to the CM and the Telangana government have said that the governor was invited and yet didn’t attend the events, a statement from Raj Bhavan has been released, stating that they didn’t receive an invite in the first place. With so many different versions going around, looks like the cold war won’t be coming to an end any time soon.
