In a big blow to the Tamil film industry, Veteran actor-director Manobala passed away today (May 3) in Chennai due to liver-related problems.
According to reports, Manobala was not in good health for the past few months and he had been taking treatment for liver-related problems at his residence for the past couple of weeks. The mortal remains of the popular filmmaker will be placed at his residence in LV Prasad Road, Saligramam in the city.
Having made his acting debut in 1979 with Bharathiraja’s Puthiya Vaarpugal, Manobala acted in over 450 films in his glorious career spanning over 35 years. Some of his directorial ventures include Agaya Gangai, Pillai Nila, En Purusshanthaan Enakku Mattumthaan, Oorkaavalan, Karuppu Vellai, Paarambariyam and Mallu Vetti Minor.
