Mangalagiri TDP key leader Ganji Chiranjeevi joined the YSR Congress Party on Monday in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, local MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and MLC Murugudu Hanumantha Rao.
CM Jagan welcomed the former TDP leader by draping the YSRCP shawl around him. Talking to the media, Ganji Chiranjeevi said that under the leadership of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, the state is developing in all fields. He said that the ruling party is working hard for the development of the downtrodden sections.
Mr Chiranjeevi criticized that there is no respect for any social group, including BC, SC, ST and minorities in TDP. He alleged that the majority of people in TDP belong to the same social class.
For the unversed, Ganji Chiranjeevi contested for Telugu Desam Party from Mangalagiri in the 2014 elections and lost to Alla Ramakrishna Reddy. In the 2019 elections, he was not given the seat as Nara Lokesh, son of then CM CBN, evinced interest in the Mangalagiri constituency.
