The Taliban group, seizing the power in Afghanistan, has left the people in fear and thousands are seeking to flee the country.

Now, Social media giant Facebook has designated the Taliban as a terrorist group and banned its content from its platforms. The company’s executive said it is proactively removing content from its platforms that promote the Taliban.

“The Taliban is on the company’s list of dangerous organisations and therefore any content promoting or representing the group is banned, Adam Mosseri, head of Facebook’s photo-sharing app Instagram, said.

“We are relying on that policy to proactively take down anything that we can that might be dangerous or that is related to the Taliban in general,” he added.

The Taliban group taking over the control of the country has raised fears among the people as it will crack down on freedom of speech and human rights, especially women’s rights.
