In a shocking development, India has witnessed a record rise in Coronavirus deaths that the country has set a new grim global record with 4,529 deaths in the last 24 hours. India has now crossed the highest daily deaths recorded by the United States in January (4,475).
India has also reported 267,334 fresh coronavirus cases on Wednesday. With 2.67 lakh fresh cases, India’s overall case count surged to 25,496,330.
As per the official data, Tamil Nadu recorded around 33,060 fresh cases, Kerala 31,340, Karnataka 30,300 and Maharashtra 28,400 cases. Maharashtra reported 1,291 new deaths, Karnataka 525 and Tamil Nadu 364. Andhra Pradesh reported 21,320 cases and was the fifth state to list over 20,000 cases.
The six most affected states in India by total cases are Maharashtra (5,433,506), Karnataka (2,272,374), Kerala (2,200,706), Uttar Pradesh (1,637,663), Tamil Nadu (1,664,350), and Delhi (1,398,391).
