Popular actor and president of DMDK Vijayakanth has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai on Wednesday. Reports suggest the veteran was admitted to the hospital at around 3 am after complaining about shortness of breath.
However, his party, Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam, said in a statement that he was admitted for a routine health check-up. His condition is stable, and he is likely to be discharged after treatment in one-two days.
DMDK party has also urged the fans not to believe any rumours about Vijayakanth. Earlier in September 2020, the 68-year-old political leader was infected with Coronavirus and recovered after undergoing intense treatment for several days.
Vijayakanth was an MLA from 2006 to 2016. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly between 2011 and 2016.
On the movie front, Vijayakanth, who acted in over 150 Tamil films, was last seen playing a cameo role in ‘Sagaptham’, which marked the acting debut of his son Shanmuga Pandian.
