At a time when the governments of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana have imposed a partial lockdown, the government of Kerala has enforced a complete lockdown from May 8th – 16th.
The chief minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan has announced a state-wide lockdown May 8-16 in a bid to curb the spread of Covid.
Kerala will be observing a strict lockdown as almost all the non-essential services will be halted between the above-mentioned dates.
A couple of days ago, AIIMS chief Randeep Guleria stated India might see a third wave of Covid pandemic. Today, the government of Kerala has announced a state-wide lockdown starting from 8th May.
India has breached the grim milestone of 2 lakh deaths and it is high time that the state governments take matters into their control and take stern measures to arrest the spread of the virus.
