In a move to augment financial strengthening of SC women, the Sangareddy area of SC Corporation has prepared 18 ladies from Scheduled Caste community to drive a car. This was undertaken to furnish the women soon with ‘She Cabs’ with a motto to empower the women. While the safety of women has become a growing concern, She cabs would fill the void and address this much pressing issue of women security and comfort for travelling in cabs in Hyderabad.
Initially on a trail basis, the SC Corporation chose the 18 women who are in the age group of 18 and 45 years. The trainers provided training for 30 days at State Bank of India-Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (SBI-RSETI) in Sangareddy and furnished driving licenses.
The women were likewise taught on operating procedures, updated covid norms while driving, finance related matters and the etiquette to be maintained as a cab driver. The SC Corporation has tied up with Uber that will use the She Cab administrations to first launch in the Hitech city surroundings. It aims to give safe transportation to women in the IT area as most of them travel at late nights after their evening shift.
