Apart from 55 passengers who boarded the Mumbai-Haridwar ‘Shramik Special’ train who were diagnosed with positive for covid-19, 32 more passengers were later identified with covid-19 infection.
Medical specialists keeping a tab of the current scenario shared that there is a higher risk of rise in number of cases, as reports for over 3,000 tests are not yet confirmed. They reported that on May 20, closely 1,500 passengers of the special train were de-boarded at Haridwar Railway Station, Uttarakhand.
After a thorough scanning as per the government regulations, the passengers were sent to different districts in approximately 15 buses for safety purpose. Till date, the individuals who tested positive were from buses bound towards Almora, Nainital and Bageshwar.
Haridwar District Magistrate C Ravishankar reported more than 450 instances of individuals from the same train were assembled in Haridwar on May 20 and the office has got a few reports while many are as yet pending. In the interim, overburdened with around 1,000 new examples undertaken between May 20 and 23, AIIMS Rishikesh has quit taking more blood samples in a bid to complete the pending tests predominantly.
Chief secretary Utpal Kumar shared that all new positive cases from Individuals will be tested as per the covid-19 guidelines. In case of no prominent manifestation of the disease after 10 days, they will be discharged.
