The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has said that the rise in the number of Della Plus variant cases in Maharashtra has caused a stir in the state. A serosurvey conducted in the country’s financial capital, Mumbai, revealed that more than 51 per cent of boys and girls have Covid antibodies.
Responding to the issue, AIIMS chief Dr Randeep Guleria said that in the first and second stages, children were not at risk for corona infection. Only minor infection and symptoms were identified in the children. The Academy of Pediatrics also said, “There is no evidence that children will be at risk and suffer from severe symptoms in the Third Wave. 90% of children will overcome the corona with mild symptoms,” the statement said.
