Serum Institute of India, which is working with Oxford on the Covid-19 vaccine, is moving step by step towards the release of the lifesaver. The CEO of Serum Institute of India, Adar Poonawalla stated that they are planning to release billion doses as soon as the vaccine gets released to the public.
Each dose is said to be costing around Rs.1000 and the Government will bear the price. Serum Institute of India will be producing the highest number of doses in the world and 50% of the doses produced will be allocated to Indians. Apart from India, 60 other countries will be importing the vaccine from India.
If all the trails goes well, Serum Institute of India is planning to launch few lakhs of doses by the end of this year and around 30 – 40 Crore doses by 2021 first quarter. Lets hope that everything goes well and the Covid-19 all round the world gets controlled.
