Corona dead bodies are piling up at Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad. The relatives of the deceased are unable to complete the funeral in a timely manner. Mortuary staff is complaining that a strong stench is coming from the dead bodies as they are being accumulated for days.
About 40-50 people die every day in Gandhi hospital due to Covid and other chronic ailments. Only half of the dead bodies are being handed over to the relatives of the deceased. The rest will be kept in the mortuary.
Currently, there are 300 bodies. From these, an intense stench is coming. The staff is asking the management to resolve the issue immediately. The families of the deceased are alleging saying that some officials, ambulances, and people in the cemetery are colluding and demanding over Rs 25,000 for the funeral.
