3 Capitals issue not over yet! YSRCP to prepare better Bill

The controversial three capitals bill, which was passed by the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, has been withdrawn and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has made his official statement regarding the same. After repealing the decentralization and inclusive development of all regions (Three capitals) bill, the AP CM addressed the assembly.

Speaking on the occasion, Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “The Bill was introduced keeping in mind the spirit of Sribagh agreement and development of North Andhra region to allow balanced development. To exhaustively explain to all the people and make modifications to plug loopholes, we withdrew this bill,” the CM said.

“The infrastructure cost in Amaravathi area is Rs 2 lakh per acre. As per previous government planning, it needs 50,000 acres for the development of basic capital. According to the latest figures, we need nearly 1 lakh crore to invest only on roads, drainage system and electricity. The estimated amount may become many times more in the span of 10 years. By investing in Vizag, after five years, there is a possibility of competing with cities like Hyderabad,” said Jagan.

“Many myths, suspicions, court cases, legal disputes and misinformation have been spread about decentralization. We have taken steps in the belief that decentralization is a good idea. We are withdrawing the bill that was introduced earlier. We will come up with a better and comprehensive bill,” Jagan added.
