Fourteen people were killed on the spot in the tempo-lorry collision, while two others were in critical condition. Many were seriously injured in the accident.
The incident took place at Veldurthi Mandal of Madapuram. It is learned that the accident took place on the Chittoor to Hyderabad highway.
There were 18 people in the tempo at the time of the accident.
Upon learning the incident, police reached the spot and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital. Some of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
All the victims were identified as belonging to the same family from Madanapalle One Town area of Chittoor district. The accident took place on the way from Madanapalle to Ajmer Dargah in Rajasthan.
