Andhra Pradesh government is in the shortage of funds. The Chief Minister has already called for reduction of expenses and is also planning to seek the funds from the Centre. In this situation, YSRCP MLA from Kandukur, Manugunta Mahidar Reddy has rejected the gunmen, who were assigned to him by the state government.
When asked about the reason behind his decision, he said that the additional personal security will put more financial burden on the government. Revealing that he has a licensed revolver with him, the MLA said that he does not require any more gunmen.

He further added that he can be more accessible for the common public, if he does not have any gunmen around. The MLA’s gesture is now receiving appreciations from not only his constituency, but also from many others, who came to know about the news.
In the initial days of YSRCP government formation in AP, even Surendra Reddy, a senior engineer of the Vamsadhaara Project in Srikakulam district, got ready to sacrifice his salary, liking the way Jagan is trying to implement various schemes for the welfare of the people. The gestures like this, are expected to increase the trust on the government, among the public.
