Impressed over the ruling of the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, an official in AP, has announced to work without salary.
M Surendra Reddy is working as a senior engineer of the Vamsadhaara Project in Srikakulam district. He started his career as an assistant executive engineer in 1986 and was able to become a senior engineer today. His current salary is 16.5 lakhs.
He was highly impressed with the way, AP CM Jagan is implementing the government schemes and so has decided to not to take any salary till his tenure, which is going to end in the next two years. If at all the rules do not permit, he is ready to take Rs. 1 as salary.
Surendra Reddy said that he is financially well settled and so is ready to forgo salary. He further added that he used to do social service from the beginning and also educated a few, who are now settled across several parts of the world.
Reddy said that he wishes to offer free services to Vamsadhaara Project, without taking any salary, as he was impressed with Jagan. This indeed is a good sign for YSRCP, which formed its government for the first time, that too recently. As the state is already finding it tough with funds, initiatives like this, from other officials too, would help the state government to run its activities smoother.
