The disputes between YSRCP and State Election Commissioner, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, do not need a special mention, given that it’s never stopped ever since Nimmagadda went against the government and refused to conduct the local body elections in March, due to Coronavirus.
The government passed an ordinance against Nimmagadda and tried to remove him from office. The government even appointed Kanagaraj as the SEC in place of Nimmagadda, but Nimmagadda fought hard for his post, legally, and made sure that he stayed in office.
After Nimmagadda was back in office once again, the government continued to behave in a cold manner towards him, and continued to personally attack him, and defame him. Nimmagadda made sure to give strong replies to the government every single time, and this particular behavior of the government continues to go on, despite the judiciary repeatedly warning the government.
Now, yet again, the YSRCP has accused Nimmagadda of leaking the details of the affidavit to the TDP, even before it was submitted to the High Court. This is not the first time the YSRCP has accused Nimmagadda of being pro-TDP. In the past too, YSRCP said that Nimmagadda executes everything according to TDP leader Chandrababu’s wish. They even accused Nimmagadda of behaving in a manner that best suited his caste people.
Nimmagadda has filed a petition in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, which states that the Andhra Pradesh government is not cooperating with him with respect to the local body elections. The government flat out rejected this statement and said that they were cooperating with the SEC, and in turn, said that it was the SEC who was not consulting the government with respect to the local body elections.
It is a well-known fact that the YSRCP has developed a personal vendetta against the SEC, but the governing party should realise that it is not constitutional to repeatedly abuse or try to overpower a person belonging to a constitutional body.
