The unfortunate and sudden demise of YSRCP MP Balli Durga Prasad led to the Tirupati Lok Sabha seat needing re-election. Most of the political parties in Andhra Pradesh already announced their candidates a long time ago. The ruling YSRCP has now finally announced its candidate.
Dr. M Gurumoorthy has been officially announced as the YSRCP’s candidate for the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-elections. He worked as the personal physiotherapist to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, during the AP CM’s 2,648 KM Praja Sankalpa Yatra, from 2017-2019.
The Election Commission of India has released the scheduled for the by-elections today. The notification is expected to be released on March 23rd, while the polling is scheduled to take place on April 17th, and the result of the elections is expected to be announced on May 2nd.
On the other hand, the Nagarjuna Sagar Lok Sabha seat in Telangana is also currently going for by-elections, and the schedule for this by-election has also been released today.
