YS Sharmila, who is going to announce her new political party in Telangana, has made some sensational comments on the ruling TRS government. She participated in International Women’s Day celebrations at the Lotus Pond today. On this occasion, Sharmila spoke about the representation of women in Telangana.
She said that the role of women in the Telangana movement was great, but the representation of women in present-day Telangana was very low. There are inequalities in Telangana women who had achieved a separate state through struggle. She criticized that injustice is happening to women. She lamented that the government was not giving proper encouragement to women.
Sharmila also reminded about her father YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s reign where many women held ministerial posts. In KCR’s government, there were only two women ministers and both got the chance after five years of state formation. She said she would stand up for women’s rights and ensured that to make women adequately represent in every work they do.
