The auction for the forthcoming season of Indian Women’s Premier League was held in Mumbai today and it was a gala affair.
Incidentally, a couple of young Telugu female cricketers made big money at the auctions as they were sold for a substantially high price.
Sabbineni Meghana of Krishna district was sold for Rs 30 lakh. She was acquired by Gujarat Giants for the said amount. She is already reorienting the Indian women’s cricket team, we must note.
Then comes the uncapped player, Anjali Sravani who was sold to UP Warriors for a whopping amount of Rs 55 lakh. This is one of the highest amount paid for an uncapped player.
The highest earning player is Smriti Mandanna who was sold to RCB for Rs 3.4 crore.
