West Indies captain Kieron Pollard on Wednesday become the second player in T20I history to hit six sixes in an over. Pollard achieved this feat while facing Sri Lanka’s Akila Dananjaya during the first T20I against Sri Lanka in Antigua.
The 33-year-old cricketer hit the six sixes in the sixth over of the match. He got dismissed on 38 off 11 deliveries.
Before Pollard, India’s star cricketer Yuvraj Singh had been the only player in the international T20 to have this record. He reached the feat during T20 World Cup in 2007, banging England’s Stuart Broad for 36 runs in an over.
Overall, Kieron Pollard is the third batsman in international cricket to hit six sixes in an over. South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs was the first cricketer to achieve the feat, scoring 36 runs in an over against The Netherlands in the 2007 ODI World Cup.
