Vyuham is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language biographical political drama film written and directed by Ram Gopal Varma. The film has Ajmal Ameer & Manasa Radhakrishnan playing the lead roles while Dhanunjay Prabhune, Vasu Inturi, Kota Jayaram, Rekha Prakash, Surabhi Prabhavathi, Elena Tuteja, Dharma Teja, Chintu & others are seen in key supporting roles. The music is composed by Balaji and the film is produced by Dasari Kiran Kumar under Ramadhuta Creations banner.
Story:
The film revolves around the unexpected events that led to the untimely death of the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS.Rajasekhara Reddy and the subsequent events surrounding the creation of the YSR Congress Party, led by his son YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy. The plot also deals with the political drama that happens between YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy, Congress party Chief Sonia Gandhi, Telugu Desam party President N. Chandrababu Naidu & Janasena party chief Pawan Kalyan.
What about on-screen performances?
Ajmal Ameer does a pretty decent job in portraying YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy. Though he didn’t have looks similar to him and could not maintain the body language of Jagan, the way he showcased his emotions and delivered his dialogues is appreciable.
Manasa Radhakrishnan is pretty convincing as Jagan’s wife. She does well in her emotional bits.
Dhananjay Prabhune who reprised Chandra Babu’s role does a commendable job of imitating CBN’s mannerisms and body language. His dubbing too is on point.
Dharma Teja and Chintu who played the roles of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan respectively also do what is required of them and hilariously imitate the star heroes with their typical mannerisms.
Elena Tuteja as Sonia Gandhi is not properly cast as she looks way too far from Sonai Gandhi.
Vasu Inturi, Kota Jayaram, Rekha Prakash, Surabhi Prabhavathi, & others are okay in their limited supporting roles.
What about off-screen talents?
The story and screenplay by Ram Gopal Varma are very predictable and his narrative is tedious. There are 2 parts to this story and in this part, he highlights Jagan’s journey to power and how he became the CM of Andhra Pradesh.
The scenes in the narrative never look real as they are completely fictitious and come from RGV’s perception of what might have happened. The dialogues too are unconvincing, singing praises of Jagan.
Director Ram Gopal Varma does an underwhelming job with his whole presentation. His making is below par and even the technical qualities are petty weak. All he could do was give some funny parody scenes of the opposition leaders during the important events that happened in the past.
The camera work by Sajeesh Rajendran is fair but the edit by Manish Thakurr is very poor.
The songs by Balaji are those typical RGV-style bland tunes that are completely forgettable. Even the background score fails to elevate the film.
The production values by Ramadhuta Creations are not up to the mark.
What’s Hot?
* Ajmal Ameer’s Performance
* A Few Funny Parody Scenes
What’s Not?
* Baseless Proceedings
* Poor Editing
* Boring Narrative
* Below Par Making & Direction
Verdict: On the whole, Vyooham is a complete propaganda film that never has any true intention of showing anything real. It more or less looks like a political parody film with some lame comedy scenes on the opposition parties and their leaders. Can avoid it in theatres!
