Former India skipper Virat Kohli, who is known for breaking many records in International cricket across all formats, has added another feather to his glittering cap today in the second semifinal of the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Virat became the first batter to cross the 4000 T20I run mark and set a new benchmark for other cricketers. He achieved this milestone after scoring 50 off 40 deliveries against England. Notably, the 34-year-old cricketer was also the first to breach the 3000 run mark in the shortest format for India.
Batting at the Adelaide Oval, Virat Kohli also got past veteran batter Brian Lara to score the most runs at the Adelaide Oval across formats among the overseas batters. While Lara scored 940 runs off 15 innings at the venue, Kohli crossed the 950-run mark in his 15th outing.
Speaking about his stats, Kohli averages 52.74 in 115 T20I matches. He has scored most T20I fifties for the country in the shortest format.
