This morning, Pothina Mahesh, the JSP candidate from Vijayawada West constituency in the 2019 election announced that he is leaving the party. This came after Pothina was denied the Vijayawada West MLA ticket as it was allocated to BJP’s Sujana Chowdary.
Pothina Mahesh submitted his resignation to the JSP high command and severed ties with the Pawan Kalyan party.
Shortly after the confirmation about Pothina leaving JSP came out, there are media reports that he could be joining the ruling party YCP soon. Though Pothina Mahesh is not likely to get the MLA ticket from YCP for the Vijayawada West constituency, he has reportedly decided to join the Jagan led party.
Pothina Mahesh is a vocally active leader and it has to be seen if can be of any help to YCP. Meanwhile, the alliance has announced Sujana Chowdary as their candidate here.
