Vice President Venkaiah Naidu severely went against Telangana Chief Minister KCR and TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu for encouraging defections in the party. He said that it is not fair to offer the ministry to the candidates who entered into the party through defection.
“A Speaker is supposed to handle the defection issues. But unfortunately, it is not mentioned in the law, as to what type of actions can be taken, if the Speaker neglects his duty. So the political parties are considering the loophole as a boon and performing the defections,” Venkaiah Naidu said.
After TDP lost in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections, four Rajya Sabha MPs of TDP, joined in BJP, in the presence of Venkaiah Naidu itself. But the senior leader maintaining silence about it and questioning KCR and Chandrababu, is being considered as unfair by many. A few also question him of why didn’t he fight for a separate law for the party defections, when he was the Central minister?
Venkaiah Naidu, who faced no noted negativity as a Vice President till date, is now facing the backlash for his comments on defections. It should be seen, how KCR and Chandrababu will react to his comments.
